Before you begin

To utilize the app, you can provide one of the following valid forms of identification:

• UK photocard driving licence
• Passport with a biometric chip
• UK biometric residence permit (BRP)

In addition, please ensure you have the following:

• A well-lit area to capture a high-quality photograph
• An iPhone 6s or higher
• iOS 13 or higher

How it functions

The process depends on the type of photo ID you possess:

If you have a driving licence:

1. Take a photo of your driving licence.
2. Scan your face using your phone.

If you have a passport:

1. Take a photo of your passport.
2. Scan the biometric chip in your passport using your phone.
3. Scan your face using your phone.

If you have a BRP:

1. Take a photo of your BRP.
2. Scan the biometric chip in your BRP using your phone.
3. Scan your face using your phone.

What to expect after

It's crucial to note that the app solely assists in confirming your identity. Once completed, you will be redirected to the website of the government service you were accessing to view the results of your identity check.
